“Let The Games Begin”
Enjoying a variety of games from Vegas Connection including Black Jack Tables, Crap Tables, Roulette, Poker Tables and Slot Machines, members and guests of the Aubrey 380 Area Chamber of Commerce all kicked back to have fun last Saturday night at the Annual Casino Night Event. This event was held at the Aubrey Area Library and we want to thank Kathy Gilson and the library board for allowing us the use of their wonderful facility.
The first order of the night was to enjoy dining on great Mexican food provided by Raphael’s Catering Service. During this time of meet and greet, our Casino Night sponsors were proudly presented during a video presentation and a slide show. We want to say a heartfelt thank you to Frank & Andrea Timmons for all your hard work creating the video and the slide show.
After feasting, members and guests were ready to choose their favorite gaming spot, or choose to enter the 2011 Chamber Texas Hold ‘Em Poker Tournament. Along with a trophy and extra chips, Henry Paine won third place, Bill Russell was second place winner and first place winner was Brandy Cherry who received a Get Away Night at the El Dorado Casino in Shreveport, LA.
Throughout the evening, other activities kept everyone’s interest peaked and Lea Watson from Lea Sage Watson Photography as well as Keith McGee from Pilot Point Post Signal was there to capture everything in pictures. Thank you so much Lea and Keith. There was the colorful costume contest which was won by Rick Howery and Sylvia Sheridan. We had our Silent Auction available again with great items from local and surrounding area businesses and back by popular demand, the “Shot Glass Raffle” gave everyone a chamber shot glass including dice and a chance to win $500 cash. Brady and Debra Graham took this prize home.
Later in the evening, a live auction was held for a beautiful, leather executive chair provided by Rustic Furniture, a pair of high-end western boots from Dennard Western and VIP Nascar Racing Package donated from Kwik Kar at Palomo Creek. Then came the excitement of cashing in winnings for tickets and gathering at the Large Raffle Bowl to take another chance on winning a large raffle item. We had great items in our large raffle this year including Nascar tickets donated by Texas Motor Speedway, Stars tickets donated by Atmos Energy, Air Hog Baseball game tickets which included a suite, Margarita Machine donated by DATCU, a Microderm Abrasion Treatment at Springhill Medical in Aubrey, and a night at Tanglewood Resort.
There are many businesses and individuals who made Casino Night successful, including sponsors, those who give to the auctions, raffles and those who worked many hours before and during the event. A sincere thank you from the chamber goes to all listed below:
